About the recipe

Bitoque is comfort straight on the plate: steak, egg, chips, rice and pan sauce.

A staple in cafés and simple restaurants, this quick dish depends on the steak cooked just right and a flavourful sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 thin steaks
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 servings of white rice
  • chips
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 50 ml white wine or broth
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper

Method

  1. Season the steaks with garlic, salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the steaks quickly in a frying pan or on a grill.
  3. Remove the steaks, then deglaze the pan with the wine or broth to make a simple sauce.
  4. Fry the eggs.
  5. Plate the steaks with the rice and chips.
  6. Drizzle the steak with the sauce and serve.
